2018 Women’s Spirituality Gathering

30 Years ago 150 women from around Aotearoa New Zealand gathered in Christchurch to share how our spirituality can empower us to transform our lives and our world. Feminist women from christian and other traditions aged from 19 to 80 years old gathered at Rangi Ruru College.

In 2018 we gather again to remember and reflect, and to consider how this legacy can empower us to continue to transform the world we live in.

The day will include time to catch up, some ritual, a presentation from Sande Ramage, time to reflect on the last 30 years and on the legacy that might remain and will include some interaction with younger women about the future. More will emerge over the next two months.

Sande Ramage will talk about Reimagining WomenSoul Beyond Religious Control      

Sande writes: Spiritually, Kiwis have changed dramatically. We are both less attached to organised religion, particularly Christianity, and more religiously diverse. For women who grew up in the grip of patriarchal religion, the change can be both liberating and mournful. But, it is exactly this experience that can fuel a creative reimagination of soulfulness enabling women to move past religious control to bring a deep, holistic wisdom to our secular community.  More about Sande
